I am excited to be chairing the upcoming In Process Particle Forum focused on Liquid and Solid Dosage Formulations on September 15 in Woodbridge, NJ. This will be the third year in a row that METTLER TOLEDO has brought together expert users of FBRM and PVM to present their cutting edge research to a group of their peers. This year, we have the best agenda yet with four industry papers from:
- Bristol-Myers Squibb
- Johnson and Johnson
Kevin Macias of Bristol-Myers Squibb will start the forum off with a plenary lecture on granulation theory and how FBRM can be applied to track changing particle size and count in high shear wet granulation.
Next up, Steve Mehrman of Johnson and Johnson will present a paper on how to predict downstream dissolution performance based by monitoring particle size distribution using FBRM C35 in fluid bed granulation.
After lunch, the focus will shift to liquid formulations with Merck’s Jim Butz presenting on his experience using FBRM to monitor and evaluate Metered Dose Inhaler processes in manufacturing using FBRM.
Finally, Yasser Suarez (GlaxoSmithKline) will conclude the event with a paper on determining the endpoint of high shear granulation at multiple scales using FBRM C35.
The In Process Particle Forum promises to be an exciting day. I hope I will be able to see many of you in Woodbridge on September 15.
